I am passionate about supporting your healing journey

Meet Miriam

Life is a Journey

Hi, I am a fellow traveller in the journey of life. I am a bilingual South American Latina cis-woman. My journey started as an artist with a passion for the unconscious, a curiosity about human behavior and the nature of relationships. And as with every journey, life had for me its fair share of challenges, glimmers, helpers, enemies, failures, successes, teachers, mentors. I learned ways to become the s-hero of my own journey… and here I am.

Over two decades of international living and working across diverse cultures as an artist, helper, mentor—from Latin America to East Africa—have enriched my understanding and honed my ability to navigate the liminal spaces between the practical and the profound.

I provide evidence based, compassionate, embodied and culturally competent care in a mindful, yet playful way through a variety of approaches including Narrative practices, Expressive Arts Therapy,  talk and embodied modalities (CBT, DBT, Somatics), within an integrative, systemic lens. I am mindful of providing inclusive services aiming to respect and honor all types of bodies, cultures and brains. I am also trained and offer Psychedelic Preparation + Integration work, using Expressive Arts Therapy, creative and embodied approaches.

What can you expect working with me

I work from a collaborative and integrative approach, respecting and supporting your unique expression, preferences and values. I know a few things that I love to practice, but ultimately, I do what works for you. The techniques, modalities and tools I use may look very different from one case to the other, honoring your strengths and preferences: from the spiritual to the practical, and from the here- and-now to past and childhood concerns.

My main objective is to support you achieving a state of wellbeing, so you can feel safe enough, empowered, and live a more fulfilling live; so you love yourself more.

I have extensive training and experience in Counseling and Clinical Psychology, Chemical Dependency, Expressive Arts Therapy, Trauma treatment, Somatics, Psychedelics and EMDR. I offer Psychedelic Assisted Therapy through Psychedelic Somatic Interactional (PSIP) modality, and work with Journey Clinical to provide Ketamine-Assisted Therapy with both low and high doses, using a relational, mindful, embodied psychotherapy lens.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Through my work, training and personal experience, I developed a deep appreciation for the use of the arts and embodied practices as healing modalities, therefore if you work with me, you’ll see me use many experiential therapies to support your goals. I invite clients gently to explore this possibility, but never impose them. I honor my strengths and limitations, as well as yours. My clients love my "realness", use of humor, and appropriate self disclosure.

I combine methods that are both practical and depth-oriented. This can involve developing tools for navigating current challenges while also examining patterns and personal histories that may play out in the present. An overarching theme in my work with clients is cultivating a sense of worth, value and acceptance in themselves. I strive for multicultural competency through training, personal reflection and accountability practices. I welcome adults of all ethnicities, genders, sexual preferences and neurodivergence.
